Mission Statement and Philosophy

The National Honey Bee Day mission statement incorporates three primary goals. They are: 1) Promotion and advancement of Beekeeping. 2) Educate the public to honey bees and beekeeping. 3) Make the public aware of environmental concerns.

Part of that mission is to provide a program, not just on the annual designated day of "National Honey Bee Day", but to assist beekeepers and the general public in all aspects of the beekeeping industry each and every day.

The mission includes having a website available for beekeepers, for those seeking to start beekeeping, and anyone seeking assistance and information in regards to honey bees and beekeeping.

The National Honey Bee Day website will not allow third party ads which many times promote products and services that are questionable, conflict with the promotion of beekeeping, or casts a negative view upon the beekeeping industry. Taking money from these advertisements or companies is not a consideration.

Much of beekeeping is local in nature. Promotion of local patronage of beekeeper products is also a main goal. Much of the National Honey Bee Day program is based on events involving the local public. Our goal involves encouraging support of beekeepers in their own communities, by their neighbors, friends, and fellow stewards of the environment.

We will strive to maintain a website and program, not based on extreme views, that does not sell out to advertisers or big corporations, or casts a negative image on beekeepers or the bee industry. We will strive to maintain a program founded on well grounded principles, positive promotion of beekeeping, best served and maintained by grass root minded beekeepers.

Thank you.
