The 2009 National Honey Bee Awareness Day Program
The first National Honey Bee Day program was held on 22 August, 2009. The list below are those individuals and associations who realized the need and benefit of this group effort. A special thanks goes out to all of them. It was their effort that allowed the program to start on the right foot, based on the willingness of these members to reach out to the communities to which they all belong. It takes special people to step forward and support a new program before the first event is even held. Those below, are those special people.
A special thanks goes out to Tina Bowen and her son Zeph, from Terre Haute, Indiana, who initiated having National Honey Bee Awareness Day officially recognized with a proclamation issued from the Department of Agriculture of the United States of America.
